Energy Efficiency at EKPC
Our energy-saving programs really work for Kentucky homes, farms and businesses.

Using Less Energy = Saving More Money
It's time to do something. Press a button. Flip a switch. Control what you can control, and watch what happens to your energy bill.

Here's what we're doing:

Appliance recycling:
Old refrigerators and freezers use far more energy than they’re worth. Your co-op will remove these power hogs for free and pay you $50 each for up to two of them, per year. Learn more from your local co-op.

ENERGY STAR appliance rebates:
If you buy appliances with an ENERGY STAR label, you’re probably eligible for rebates. Learn more from your local co-op.

BillingInsights:
Our online home energy evaluation provides a powerful link directly to your monthly billing information to instantly analyze where energy is being used in your home. Learn more from your local co-op.

Envision Energy Services:
Inefficiency in a business setting can grow quickly into a costly problem. The professionals at Envision Energy audit the energy use, lighting and compressed-air systems at businesses to identify opportunities to save. They also do infrared inspections to identify problems with electric equipment. Call your local co-op and ask about Envision Energy.

CFL bulbs:
These bulbs use a quarter of the power of traditional bulbs and last much longer. That's why Kentucky's Touchstone Energy Cooperatives have given away hundreds of thousands of CFL bulbs since 2003.
