Renewable Energy at EKPC
We're generating more green energy than any utility in Kentucky, and our members offer that green energy through the EnviroWatts Program.

We're committed to providing affordable, reliable power to our members. Nearly 6 percent of our generating capacity comes from renewable or carbon-free sources. Here are some examples:

Cooperative Solar :
Co-op members who want to help the environment and future generations by powering their home or business with renewable energy will soon have their chance.

Fifteen member cooperatives offer members renewable power through the envirowatts program.

National Renewables
Cooperative Organization:

We are a founding member of the National Renewables Cooperative Organization, which helps cooperatives diversify their generation resources with renewable energy.

Hydro Power:
We purchase 170 megawatts of carbon-free hydro power, which is produced by water moving through Wolf Creek and Laurel Dams.
