Another year has flown by, bringing us once again to the Christmas season. During this most wonderful time of the year EKPC employees are busy demonstrating our holiday spirit.
Though generating and transmitting electricity is our primary purpose, EKPC and Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives are also in the quality-of-life business every day of the year. We are steadfast in our commitment to care for the communities where our members live, work and play.
Here are just a few of the ways that Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives demonstrated that caring spirit throughout 2019:
- Once again this fall, the employees of East Kentucky Power raised more than $4,000 for the Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky.
- Promoted environmental stewardship by offering tours of Cooperative Solar Farm One
- Sponsored the Special Olympics Kentucky State Summer Games in June
- Made it possible for two local war veterans to participate in Honor Flight, allowing them to visit Washington, D.C., monuments erected in their honor
- Helped area families with sick children by collecting supplies and volunteering at the Ronald McDonald Houses
During this season of giving and throughout the year, we are committed to improving the quality of life for those we serve. It’s simply the cooperative way.
In the spirit of Christmas, happy holidays from EKPC!
