In order to deliver power to our owner-member cooperatives, EKPC owns and maintains thousands of miles of transmission lines located across 87 Kentucky counties. EKPC also has many system interconnections with neighboring utilities.
Maintaining our transmission system is one of the most important tasks for ensuring reliable service to our members. The crews that take care of that job are based in Bardstown, Burnside, Crittenden and Winchester. They make sure power is delivered to members by doing inspections of lines, conducting aerial and foot patrols, manually clearing trees and mowing our rights-of-way.
