Why we don't bury lines
People often ask, "Why don't you bury the lines you want to build across my property?" The main reason is that while underground lines are more attractive, the costs are prohibitive, especially in the rural areas served by cooperatives. The cost is up to 10 times greater to bury a power line. Other problems are that:

1) Visual inspection of underground lines is impossible.

2) Repairing underground lines is usually more complex and costly.

As a not-for-profit cooperative, we strive to provide power at the lowest price we can.
